BLOG: "From Kabul with Love" Collection Season IV (Drops 11/17)
Our long-running “From Kabul with Love” Collection series is back for a fourth and final season to kick off Winter ‘23.
Inspired by the aesthetics & events of the Soviet-Afghan War of the 1980s, this series incorporates the prints, camos, and imagery of that era into the design of our pieces.
The Season IV collection features Afghan War Rug prints, Soviet KLMK Camo, mountain landscapes, and detailed embroideries in a stacked-up product mix featuring sherpas, hoodies, crewnecks, tees, and one-of-one bucket hat samples.
As always, our tees and hoodies (and everything else) are cut-and-sewn from scratch (never blanks).

KLMK Sherp
The sherp returns for Winter ‘23.
KLMK (aka Berezka or "Birch Leaf") is a Soviet pattern that was an icon of their 1980s war and occupation in Afghanistan. It was designed to overcome NATO night vision devices at the time, and is perhaps the first digital camo pattern to have been developed and issued (late 1960s.)
There are many versions of KLMK - all with slight variations of shades and colors. The version we used on this sherpa is “silver leaf.”

“War Rug” Microfleece Hoodie
The Microfleece Hoodie debuts in this collection. Moisture-wicking and breathable, the Microfleece hoodie can be worn on its own or as a mid-layer (underneath a hardshell).
This hoodie features a YKK quarter-zip, drawstring-adjustable hood, and silicone-dipped drawstring tips.
Printed in our own “Sangin” War-Rug pattern.

“Kabul Kayaking” Crewneck in Cedar
We’ve all seen the T-ban in the pedal boats. They served as inspo for last season’s iteration of “Kabul Kayaking.”
This crewneck is constructed of ultra-high quality 460GSM French Terry Cotton - thick & perfect for cooler weather. Rib-knit cuffs, collar, and waistband. Cut-and-sewn from scratch with hand-picked fabrics to our own custom spec’d measurements. Screen-printed artwork.
Machine wash cold and hang dry or cool dry to avoid shrinkage.
Can be shrunk to fit intentionally - comes relaxed fit/slightly oversized out of the package.

Landscape Hoodies // CONCEPT
This collection marks the debut of our all-new Landscape Hoodie concept.
The genesis involved photographs of Afghanistan, transformed into watercolor-painting style artwork, & finally executed as an full-body print on the final garment.
The prints are meticulously matched up across seams. For example - note how the print of a man’s arm extends beyond the kangaroo pocket of the hoodie, onto the body. A view of a village is seamlessly displayed across the pocket and onto the garment without disruption to the artwork (see below for pics/details).
These premium hoodies are constructed with 460GSM heavy-brushed French Terry cotton - thick and perfect for cooler weather. Rib-knit cuffs & waistband are chosen in specific colors to match the artwork of each particular piece.

KLMK “BEREZKA” SET - RETRO WINDBREAKER & RIPSTOP JOGGER
Due to popular demand, we have brought back the KLMK Set from Season II of the FKWL collection.
This is the one and final restock we are running for these pieces.

The Retro Windbreaker features YKK Aquaguard main zipper, two zippered hand pockets, and a large zippered horiztonal back pocket. PVC Rubber Logo patch on sleeve and rubberized velcro cuff closure.
The Ripstop Jogger features YKK zippered hand pockets and cargo pockets, drawstrings, and PVC rubber logo patch on cargo pocket.
Both pieces are constructed of Ripstop Stretch material.
